Oh My…Pumpkin Pie Hot Cocoa

This is so good … I have been making  hot chocolate lately with a different twist my latest experiment came out delish ! This recipe makes 2 cups.

I like to froth some milk to top off the hot cocoa. Recipe for Michele’s Pumpkin Pie Hot Cocoa:  3/4 c. Rice Dream Vanilla…1 1/4 c. 2% milk…1/2 c. water…2T.pumpkin puree…1/4 t. cinnamon…1/8 t. pumpkin pie spice…1 T. unsweetened cocoa… 1/4 t. vanilla… 3 T. agave nectar…2 dashes McCormick (new) cocoa chile blend or a dash of cayenne or chilpotle powder …..Blend all ingredients in a pan over med. heat use a whisk and stir constantly for 2 mins … don’t boil…continue stirring off and on for about 6 mins …give the blend a final whisk pour into your cup, top off with frothed milk or if you want it sweet marshmallow it up.  Dash of cinnamon on the top of course! sip and enjoy…For a variation on this recipe try without the cocoa it is light and refreshing but still a hot cozy drink! yummy… as a side note check out the new McCormick gourmet blend spices they have came out with several new blends some roasted blends all are great!  The cocoa chili blend is great in soups, gravies, use in dry rubs for meat or in your hot cocoa!  Remember to try new things and don’t be afraid to experiment a bit,  you can surprise yourself!

try it… enjoy it… and let me know what you think…
